Matthew G. Gwaltney Scholarship

On April 16, 2007, the world was rocked by the events at Virginia Tech. Families, friends and total strangers were impacted by this tragedy. Closer to home, Matthew Gwaltney, son of Greg Gwaltney and stepson of Linda Gwaltney, a former president of the Richmond Chapter, was among those who were taken from their families. Matt was just weeks away from obtaining his graduate degree.

The Richmond Chapter is honored to recognize Matt by establishing the Matthew G. Gwaltney Scholarship. We hope to have Linda and Greg involved in the decision making and presentation of the scholarship, at the very least for the initial award. At this time, we will give one $500.00 scholarship to the selected recipient for the spring semester of 2008.

We will be raising funds to support this scholarship and it is our goal to be able to offer multiple scholarships or increase the amount. The Chapter will accept direct donations from our members and hopes to receive support from our Vendors/Sponsors.
